reality sucks

Reality sucks?

Yes, House again. I am "possessed" by this TV series. It was very interesting, especailly when it is about a group of doctors striving to cure unknown or difficult diagnoised disease.

In one episode, I saw Dr. House questioned a couple to find any one of them have love affair, so that they get the African sleeping sickness. It was interesting and appealing idea. But for me, it is an absolutely impossible option.

Sleeping Sickness [African Trypanosomiasis (tri-PAN-o-SO-my-a-sis), African Trypanosoma Infection] :- Sub-divided into East and West
According to CDC,

What is African trypanosomiasis?
There are two types of African trypanosomiasis (also called sleeping sickness); each is named for the region of Africa in which they are found. The disease is caused by a parasite named Trypanosoma brucei rhodesiense (tri-PAN-o-SO-ma BREW-see-eye rho-DEE-see-ense), carried by the tsetse fly.Worldwide, approximately 25,000 new cases of both East and West African trypanosomiasis are reported to the World Health Organization each year. However, many cases are not reported due to a lack of infrastructure and the true number of new cases is undoubtedly much higher. Since 1967, thirty-six cases of East African trypanosomiasis have been reported within the United States, all among individuals who had traveled to Africa. (See also West African trypanosomiasis.)

During a blood meal on the mammalian host, an infected tsetse fly (genus Glossina) injects metacyclic trypomastigotes into skin tissue. The parasites enter the lymphatic system and pass into the bloodstream.

It is absolutely not a sexually transmitted disease! Love affair is interesting option, but not a medical discernment. (Maybe the series writer(s) loves love affair to play their tricks.)

I have searched the internet for more information and found that many have found that the medical description of the diseases are not always right. For example, a young boy has been diagnosed by House to have a disease which is extremely rare in youngster, but a similar disease which is common among the young is simply dismissed.

After knowing they are not all right medical informaiton has not stopped me to love this series. It really stuns me. I love it even it may not be true?!
Right! It means I am interested because not just of the medical situation, but the detective-like storyline. But sometimes it is less dangerous for us to know that they are all fictions, rather than half-truth.

Da Vince Code is a fiction which claims to be based on facts, in fact they are only hoax or stories. Many treat them as truth and even went to the place to search for the so-called evidences. In one of the documentaries, it describes one owner of the Roselyn church (if I really correctly) even order some workers to make a hole in the floor to peep inside it. It is intrigated by the fiction.

A problem remains: Why people loves half-truth or even fiction; and sometimes treat them like the truth?
Of course, conspiracy theory is behind Da Vince Code (so do the alien and UFO), but the TV series, House, M.D. does not have this element; but it is a drama, which has "dramatic" effect.

Denial_Process

When I saw the TV series, House, M.D., he listed the five steps of a denial process for patients for terminal illness. Of course, he was cruel enough to impose on his fellow doctor and the patient related.
1) Denial
2) Anger
3) Bargaining
4) Depression
5) Acceptance
Since it is a strong defence mechanism from the internal system of human being, it may be applied all sorts of life experience we are facing.
For example, when we face criticism form others, we will use the first two steps, and the third one is not bargaining, usually attacking or revenge.

Our attitude may change dramatically or attack others with furious words or even actions.

Clearly there is another mechanism working: tends to deny it altogether.
In contrast to the above mentioned 5 steps, it follows a different route, which draws the client from the reality; but to his/her own virtual reality.

For him/her, it is the cold fact or reality, while others clear see the contrary.

This can be applied to psychosis building-up?
Besides, the devil-like self-deception may be related to this process.
