Denial_Process

When I saw the TV series, House, M.D., he listed the five steps of a denial process for patients for terminal illness. Of course, he was cruel enough to impose on his fellow doctor and the patient related.
1) Denial
2) Anger
3) Bargaining
4) Depression
5) Acceptance
Since it is a strong defence mechanism from the internal system of human being, it may be applied all sorts of life experience we are facing.
For example, when we face criticism form others, we will use the first two steps, and the third one is not bargaining, usually attacking or revenge.

Our attitude may change dramatically or attack others with furious words or even actions.

Clearly there is another mechanism working: tends to deny it altogether.
In contrast to the above mentioned 5 steps, it follows a different route, which draws the client from the reality; but to his/her own virtual reality.

For him/her, it is the cold fact or reality, while others clear see the contrary.

This can be applied to psychosis building-up?
Besides, the devil-like self-deception may be related to this process.
